Its been awhile

but I am back. I have just been sooo busy this past few weeks that I haven't had time to craft let alone blog!
I did however manage to make a card for my daughter's 8th birthday this weekend. She is a Doctor Who fan so I made her a Tardis card complete with the Doctor inside(David Tennant of course as he is the best!) I need to make her friend a card for tuesday and then one for my Dad who retires also on tuesday this week but that is a job for tomorrow evening.

Last weekend we spent the weekend at Alton towers staying at the fab AT Hotel in a tatty ted themed room. It was so cute..only downside is now my daughter wants her bedroom EXACTLY how the room at the hotel looked. I am not that clever! LOL. We all had a great time and I even managed to get on all the big coasters, its been too long since I had the chance to play like a big kid and I had so much fun with a permanent grin slapped across my face all day.

Yesterday we had a family birthday tea here after going bowling with some of H's friends, it was fun. I didn't get to make her cake this year as I was so busy but I bought one of Asda's photo cakes and decorated it myself with  a bowling alley theme, using a mini bowling pin set found on ebay. I was really pleased with it(photo's to follow).

Hoping for a quieter week this week...but who kows what will turn up!

Sorry not been about the past few days, been busy with work and children.
I celebrated my 37th birthday on Tuesday. DH bought me half a laptop - LOL I had to pay the other half but as I was going to be buying one anyway it really is ok! The children bought me some perfume and I had some crafting goodies. 2 x flower faires cd's a girls & boys duo cd, a set of rocker blocks and some stick and spray all from Crafters companion bought by my lovely parents. I plan to get crafting with them tomorrow to make a couple of thankyou cards.
H went back to Brownies tonight after a long break for the holidays and was totally exhausted when she got home.Think the busy days at school are starting to show already! She had an almighty tantrum of the likes I have never seen or heard from her! I was shocked but its all blown over now!
We welcomed a new dog home on Monday night, Ruby the Springer Spaniel. She is DH's new working dog and is 20mth old. She's a cutie and very playful, but is quite nervy especially aorund our Jack Russell Connie! Ah well I am sure they will get along soon!
Looking forward to the weekend when we can all chill for a bit!

No crafting this weekend as its been a busy time out and about. Saturday DH took me out to look for a laptop for my birthday(well he is paying half towards one) but the one we wanted wasn't in stock, so he is going to order it online I think.  My parcel of goodies have arrived from Creat and Craft but I am being very good and not opening it until tomorrow morning!
We had a quiz night and BBQ on saturday evening to help raise money for charity which was good fun.

Sunday was a day of ferrying H around to her Brownie Centenary celebrations and also paying deposits for Bowling party. So very busy and no time for anything. Hopefully tonight I shall clear the ironing so that I can craft tomorrow with my new goodies!

Back to school.

The children went back to school today, H started Juniors, she looked beautiful in her uniform this morning, but when we got to school she looked like a little fish in a big pond. She went in with a smile though and came out this afternoon with a great big grin, so the day was a sucess.
Here is the card I made for her, using some of Last months "LMC" bits and bobs.

Not long now until my birthday, Mum has just put in an order for me at www.Crafterscompanion.co.uk . I gave her a wish list of Cd's and other bits I would like and now I just have to wait and see which items she has picked for me. I can't wait.

Been a busy few days. Spent the bank holiday with the family, swimming at a local fun pool and then a late lunch/early tea at pizzahut, delish!
Made the bowling invites, simple but effective I think.

Tonight I am going to make a goodluck card for my baby girl, she starts Junior school tomorrow morning! I am really excited for her, and she is really looking forward to it!

Last night was a fantastic show, the effects were so realistic, you could almost believe the dinosaurs were real - well the children believed and thats the important thing!

Have just booked H's bowling birthday party for the last weekend in September, they give you free invites for sending out but I have decided to make my own, I only need to make 4 anyway as its a small party(6 in total - 2 of them being my own 2). I plan to make them in the shape of a bowling pin with a number 8 on the front of each as that is how old H is going to be! Might make a start on them this evening!  Ooooh it is exciting!

Two Birthday cards

Two cards made last night for twin friends of my daughter. Very Girly girls liking High School Musical and Hannah Montana, so those are the themes.

This first one was done on Lilac A4 card scored into gatefold using the Ultimate Crafters Companion . I printed out pics and mounted them on silver mirror board(all card from Papermill) The Happy birthday is stamped and embossed with silver "Heat it up" embossing powder and the name is made using silver peel off stickers.

This card is a cerise colour(hard to tell in the light of the picture) again the images are mounted on silver mirror board and the card has been scored to make an A5 card and then the front flap folded back on its self before putting on the image. Inside the card there is a panal of backing paper with HSM doodles all over including the names of the characters. The stamping is the same as above.

Ok off to go and make a birthday wish list on the Crafters Companion site, there are some cd's that I would like for my birthday and just hoping someone will take the hint at home LOL.

Welcome

I am new to blogging but have been making cards for a couple of years now. I thought it was time to share some of my cards with you all.
Here are some of my most recent makes.

A sympathy card for a friend who recently lost a very dear member of her family. The card was sent on behalf of a group of ladies who wanted to pass on their thoughts. The Flower fairy topper was from the Flower fairy edition of LMC (Lets make cards) kit. I used pearlised card in two shades of green and a cream & Green Organza ribbon purchased from a local craft shop and the pink gems were from my stash.

This card was made by request for a friend who has a wedding coming up. The colour theme was inspired by the invite which was chocolate brown and cream. The base card is pearlised warm cream accented with chocolate brown and gold organza ribbon. The bouquet is cream paper roses with gold leaves and more organza ribbon, the champagne bottle is made from pearlised gold card. The card is finished off with gold peel offs. There is a handmade box to complement the card in matching pearlised warm cream and topped off with organza ribbon.

Another wedding card, made for a collegue who married In July. Base card is hammered cream card from Papermill, with a silver paper mat and pearlised lilac card from Crafters Companion paper/card pack. The image is from a free clipart site on the net(sorry can't remember the site's name to acknowledge) with the cans being "held onto" the car with strings of mini pearls. Heart shaped gems from stash. This also had a box to complement the card made from same hammered card and finished off with white satin ribbon and bow.
